This is an easy to build low-cost medium wave
transmitter with a still solid output and a nice deep modulation.
It uses
a number of universal plastic transistors. In the control there
are two PNP types are used. I have used the BF451
a type which was frequently used in intermediate frequency
amplifiers FM radios. The oscillator is the familiar three-point
circuit with a 9 uH
on an adjustable ferrite core coil, I have a 4 mm coil form used
by about 25 turns of 0.2 mm wire close to each other
wrapped. The emitter junction is about 6 turns from the earth
side. For the 1 nf capacitor across the coil and a mica
styroflex type. Definitely not a ceramic capacitor temperature
because they are not stable enough. After the last BF 451 is a
550 BC used as driver stage, followed by the final stage which
consists of two parallel transistors 550 BC. The collector pipe
is
the antenna coil, the coil antenna extension, this is for an
antenna length of 3 to 5 meters.
As AM modulator, two pieces BC559 PNP transistors used
With a 12 volt power supply and a freely suspended with the
transmitter antenna can still get a usable width of 2 to 4 km.
